Mary Lane was fantastic every step of the way and a real pleasure to work with. She grew up in the area and has tons of really useful knowledge about neighborhoods, specific houses, schools, and the area in general. We had a lot of questions, and when we actually were purchasing the house, we required a lot of interaction to negotiate inspection fixes and other things with the sellers. Mary Lane was extremely responsive and would call, email, or text us back pretty much immediately every time. She was really amazing in that regard and was always patient and professional in answering all of our questions. She also seemed to have an army of contractors, HVAC people, inspectors, electrictians, plumbers, etc who came out at various points who were reasonable and professional. Whenever we had a question or needed someone to check on something, she would give us three or four names of people who were all great. One of the things I particularly liked about Mary Lane was that she offered honest advice and was supportive without pushing for anything. She really helped us with our decision process and gave us great information rather than trying to get us to buy something that wasn't perfect. In addition, we did a fair amount of looking online on real estate sites and Mary Lane always seemed to have house listings faster and/or had additional information before we could find them, which was really helpful. On top of all that, she's also just a really nice person. We're now in a house we absolutely love and I'm very grateful for that. I would highly recommend Mary Lane Sloan to anyone who asks (and I have been recommending her to friends already).

Best Experience Even Though We Didn\'t Buy

Although we ultimately chose not to purchase the home at 434 Joshua Street, we did want to comment on the performance of our buyer’s agent, Mary Lane Sloan. Her dedication, counseling, and professionalism have left a last impression on us. Mary Lane is one of the hardest-working people we know. Despite the fact that she was pregnant at the time, Mary Lane was always available, always responded quickly to blackberry messages, often had answers to questions before we asked them, and provided information and advice practically upon request. She volunteered to handle every task that arose and was incredibly proactive about solving our problems. Mary Lane was also very generous with her time and advice. We felt that her counseling was very balanced, knowledgeable, and reliable. More importantly, however, Mary Lane appreciates the art of diplomacy. She intuitively understood when we needed space and time to consider our options. In our experience, proactive people rarely have this trait. Finally, Mary Lane’s loyalty and professionalism impressed us. In our case, there were several times when we knew or suspected that Mary Lane did not agree with our decisions, but she was nonetheless sincerely supportive and loyal at every turn. Again, our experience, this is more the exception than the rule, and we believe that it makes a big difference in the professional world. While we did not ultimately purchase the house at issue, Mary Lane’s approach to the final result has made fans of us both, and we will be spreading the word to our friends at every opportunity.
